Flood Prevention in Chester County

The flooding and sewage disasters suffered by our local Chester County community recently were quite overwhelming for those involved.  SERVPRO of Kennett Square/Oxford strives to make each storm event a pleasant experience for the parties involved, but we also recommend ways to prevent the storm damage from occurring in the first place.  Below, we list several preventative actions you can take in order to stop flood damage in its tracks!

Clean your Gutters. 

By ensuring that your drainage system is clear of clogs, storm water will flow properly through the gutters and away from your property.

Check your Storm Drains. 

Have your drains checked for quality performance of draining storm water.

Inspect your Home for Issues before the Storm Begins. 

Structural damage to your foundation, roof and other areas can cause leaks or greater water damage during a large rain storm.

Review your Insurance Policy.

Before a storm occurs, we recommend that you discuss your policy and coverage with your insurance provider.  Flooding and other storm issues aren’t always covered, so it is critical to choose the policy that works best for you.
